Quartzite Products

Quartzite is harder than quartz.

Quartzite is an amazing natural stone material. It is naturally strong, resists heat and is hard to stain.  Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that is formed when sandstone experiences extreme heat and pressure.  During this process the individual quartz grains of the sandstone re-crystalize into an interlocking matrix of quartz crystals giving it a beautiful and decorative sparkling pattern. Quartzite is ideal for any countertop surface due to its appearance, strength and long-lasting composition.

Over the last few years, the kitchen countertop market has seen an influx of new stones such as soapstone, limestone and marble. It is important to understand the geological categories of these materials and how those physical properties perform under the normal wear and tear of today’s kitchens. One of the more popular materials recently to make an appearance in the kitchen countertop market is quartzite, a hard metamorphic rock originally formed as a sandstone.

There are a variety of colors ranging from a near perfect white, deep rich browns, light grays to a deep sapphire blue, allowing you a plethora of choices for the design you create.

Care & Maintenance

It is recommended that quartzite be cared for in the same manner as granite. An annual sealer will provide the basis for general protection. A daily granite cleaning product will also help retain the beauty and functionality of quartzite.
